We ARE HIRING FOR ONTARIO 2024 SPRING PLANT!
Tamarack Reforestation is looking for a few experienced planters to join our small but growing team in Ontario for the 2024 spring plant. Our season is perfect for vets looking for a shorter season or for QC/ON planters with a late start date to get a couple weeks in the ground before your season starts. The highlights:
we offer a 16c minimum tree price, season range is 16c-19c plus stat plus vacation.
accommodations are provided with no camp costs. We will be staying in cabins equipped with full kitchens for the first half of May, and staying at a mix of airbnbs/motels for the rest of the season. Planters take care of their own food.
we will be starting the season in the North Bay region with approximately 18 planters. We will then be scaling down to a smaller crew before moving north for the second half of May/early June and finishing up our season in Hearst area.
for those seeking an early plant we require commitment of May 1st - May 15th.
for those seeking a full season we have planting from approx. May 1st - mid June and then we have brushing work available for a small crew that will likely go until the end of July, with potential fall brushing opportunities to follow.
this is our 7th year in business and my 17th season planting overall (11th running crews) The vibe here is pretty relaxed and the crew is mostly older vets, we have a really great group and are excited to add some more quality folks to our roster. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly company and strive to create an environment where everyone is welcome.
we take planter safety seriously and don’t cut any corners when it comes to creating a safe working environment both on and off the block.

2023 SPRING PLANTING - ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS!
It was cold, it was hot, it was smoky and then before we knew it, it was all over! We had an amazing 2023 Spring Plant this year, with approx. 10,000 potted stock and 400,000 seedlings planted.
A big thank you to everyone involved in making our spring plant a success including our clients and all of our hard working, dedicated tree planters. We have only just finished but already are excited about our future 2023 Fall and 2024 Spring plants. Hope to see you all back next year!
